Library
The Esther Swinkin Memorial Library is in a new space which was completed in 2006 with renovations and additions. Adjacent to the Chapel, the room is a comfortable and inviting place to read and study. The library and its collection are available for use by all Temple members. Books and videos may be borrowed for one month on an honor system. To borrow a book: fill out the book card in the back of the book with your name, telephone number, address, and the date the book was borrowed. Place the book card in the box on the top of the card catalog. Return books to the blue box under the card catalog. The library has a collection of approximately 1500 books and 75 videos. There is also a children’s collection. The general collection contains information concerning the history of the Jews and our religion, analysis…
The Temple's Adult Education Program includesCourses offered during weeknights and Sunday mornings about a range of topics such as the Hebrew Bible, the study of the Hebrew language, Jewish History, etc.Sunday morning presentations on topics of current interest to the Jewish Community.Programs related to Jewish Holidays such as an annual Shavuot Tikkun featuring the Temple's spiritual leader, Rabbi Scolnic discussing topics from the Torah.Special programs such as a weekend with a Jewish scholar or a concert of music related to a Jewish theme.Refreshments are provided with many of the programs and most of the programs are provided at no cost.
